Michigan hockey dominates Bentley in regional semifinal

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) —  From start to finish, No. 1 seed Michigan was in full control as the Wolverines take down No. 4 Bentley 5-1 in the Albany regional.

Five different Wolverines netted a goal in their win. Senior T.J. Hughes helped Michigan take the early 1-0 lead halfway through the first period. Just before the end of the first period, junior Ben Robertson scored a goal from the Wolverines offensive blue line to beat the buzzer, giving Michigan the 2-0 lead.

Junior Nick Moldenhauer gave Michigan the 3-0 lead with a power play goal in the 2nd period, followed by freshman Kason Muscutt’s goal to give the Wolverines a 4-0 lead.

Junior Garrett Schifsky netted the final goal for Michigan, giving the Wolverines the five-point lead. Bentley would score a late goal off the stick of David Helledy but the Falcons were sent home.

Michigan will now play the winner between Minnesota-Duluth and Penn State.
