Man arrested on suspicion of East Greeley stabbing that led daycare to lockdown

An east Greeley daycare locked its doors and secured the building as a man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a few blocks away.
JS Bereichy, 28, was arrested Thursday by Greeley police on charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and menacing, according to a Greeley Police Department news release.
Police believe Bereichy stabbed a 23-year-old man outside a store in the northeast corner of the intersection of 8th Avenue and 15th Street, according to the release. The victim then walked west toward the ABC East Child Development Center, in the northwest corner of the intersection of 16th Street and 12th Avenue, and the building went into a secure status. The daycare locked the doors and did not allow anyone to leave or enter the building starting at about 5 p.m. until lifting it about 20 minutes later.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the release.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Detective Kody Brunnemer at kody.brunnemer@greeleypd.com.
Bereichy is in custody at the Weld County Jail and is scheduled to virtually appear in court for a bond hearing on March 27 at the Weld County District Court.
